1) If I WERE you? Why "were" and not "was"? Doesn't "were\was" refer to "I"?
2) I don't understand. Shouldn't it be "that year"? You can't write "this" since you don't know when I am reporting - maybe I am reporting the year after. What is the correct version, if so?
