Rewind

'Wind' means 'to twist' so what does 'rewind' mean on your TV remote?

Top answer

It must be an old remote. "Rewind" used to refer to the function of putting the tape (video or audio) back on the original reel (from the take-up reel). The other possibility is that I'm simply out of the loop.

The other possibility is that I'm simply out of the loop. I never learned to use "the remote."
