Dear sir,

Iam interested in applying for the 3rd EASO Master class in Clinical Oncology arranged by the Euro-Arab school of oncology in the period between 27/10/2011 - 29/10/2011 in Amman, Jordan. I knew about this multidisciplinary three day program from both Professor Anwar Sheikha (senior consultant clinical hematology in Hiwa Hematology/Oncology Hospital, Sulaimaniya, Kurdistan, Iraq) and from Dr.Kakil brahim Rasul (CABM, FRCP Edin, ESMO Senior Consultant Physician and Haem/Oncology and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine
Weill Cornell Medical College/ Qatar Hamad Medical Corporation Al-Amal Hospital Doha, Qatar) as an encourage from both to the junior Iraqi oncologists to share in this meeting.

I took their emails with a great consideration especially after the two year of an intense teaching program of a high diploma program in hematology –oncology and the daily exposure to handreds of cancer patients in Hewa cancer hospital in the Suliamaniyua province of Iraqi Kurdistan under the supervision of professor Sheikha and his continues efforts to push as toward the importance of enrolling in scientific meetings and workshops in medical oncology to get more communication with oncologist in the world and try to start our own practice in begin clinical trials especially that we have the materials from patients, medical and surgical manpower to advanced drugs chemotherapy items . In January 2010 and after getting the high diploma degree in oncology I returned back to my city Kirkuk “the black gold city” due to it is reputation in producing oil with a population of nearly one and half million”, I had joined my fellows in the daily management of many cancer patients with chemotherapy focusing mainly on adult solid cancers especially breast , lung, GIT ,some urinary tract tumors like prostate and bladder and to a lesser extent lymphoma patients although our chemotherapy drug sources were limited at start, but we could attract the attention of the Iraqi ministry of health to provide as with more facilities to treat our kirkuki cancer patients and to put future plans for a bigger and more sophisticated cancer center including facilities for radiotherapy and pediatrics hematology-oncology.

I believe that sharing in this master class could help me and my fellows to try to fill or at least decrease that gap that is noticed from our daily practice in treating cancer patients in compare to our oncology doctors fellows in the nearby countries like Jordon ,Turkey and Iran especially when we receive some patients were judgment for chemotherapy have been settled by medical oncologist according to availability of some advanced diagnostic and therapeutic facilities for cancer patients like PET-CT and advanced new pathological techniques , also we found this meeting as a feasible opportunity to achieve what do we need regarding what is new in cancer treatment and to help some of our patients who would like to know updates in cancers world .
