1. A three-year-old girl is in the hospital today, after being rescued after being locked in a running washing machine.
Jennifer, 3, and Elizabeth, 7, were playing at a Cityville Laundromat, when Jennifer decided to climb into a washing machine. It was not really a problem until Elizabeth closed the door, and the machine started. The three-year-old girl was trapped inside while the machine was filling up with water. Elizabeth ran to her aunt, who tried to open the door but the door was locked.
Jennifer was saved when a man named Chris Gibson heard the noise from the Laundromat. He rushed in and took a hammer and smashed the glass and rescued the child.
The Cityville Hospital spokesperson said that Jennifer was admitted yesterday and is in great condition. Jennifer's parents could not be found for a comment.

2. A group of 55 American cyclists arrived in Ho CHI Minh in Vietnam yesterday after traveling 1200 miles in 20 days.
The U.S. Cycling Federating arranged this to allow U.S. residents to get a close- up look at the country and its citizens. Officials say that it is a part of an effort to open up Vietnam to outsiders and to present a different picture of the country than people had come to expect from the Vietnam War.
Bob Lester, 33, was one of the cyclists on the trip. When asked about the trip, he said, "This trip was the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life. I would recommend the experience to anyone who can pedal a bike."
The trip was such a success that another one is be planned and organized for next year.

3. The Cityville Department of Commerce is launching a three- part train safety program because of train crossing accidents.
The state of Cityville has had its share of train related accidents, which is concerning many. Recently, in Johnston County, a man was injured when his car was hit at a crossing. Another incident happened five years ago, when an engineer and hundreds of others were killed when a train crashed after hitting a truck.
To insure your safety, the state is asking that state highway crews work with the Department of Commerce to inspect trains. The state is also compiling statistics on the most dangerous roads crossings to improve them. They also want will provide education programs that will caution drivers on crossing railroad intersections.
