I'm taking my self made write a page a day challenge to get better at writing. I take up random topics. Today's the first day:
Memory
Memory techniques are some surprisingly powerful methods to strengthen the brain's ability to memorize and recall a great variety of topics -- that normally could prove to be a more tedious task -- like learning a derivation, a lost of groceries or items, glossary terms, phrases, cants of a poem or expositive dialogues from a play, even speeches and roting for subjects like history, biology, political science etc.
The human brain is essentially akin to a supercomputer as if it were sentient and had a subconscious. It has trillions of boxes to accommodate the incoming memory packets from our everyday experiences. Our brain is believed to store every bit of information that is received or detected by it, but obviously each of those bits aren't as prominently ingrained in the frontal lobe because there is constant winnowing of the received information to separate the prominent part from the trivial or irrelevant portion - so as to not fill up unnecessary space.
This is a continuous cognitive process consisting of an incessant exchange of information and memories throughout our lifetime (although it ebbs down in old age), even during sleep; So if one wants to utilize this cognitive potential to its utmost efficacy, they need to adopt certain memory techniques -- which can greatly enhance the learning process -- as they focus on channeling our maximum awareness and our stream of consciousness towards a specific plane of tasks or objective, which brings about a concomitant augmentation of one's retentive capacity.
