Review of my motivation letter

Hi, I want to apply for an MBA and the University asks me a motivation letter. I wrote this one. Could you please review it and give me a feedback?

Dear Sir or Madam

I am writing to apply for the MBA Program at Georg-Simon-Ohm Management Institute.

After finishing the MBA, I plan either to run my own business in Project Management as a consultant, or to be a Program or Portfolio Manager in a company. Also I want to be a teacher in a postgraduate business program. I think that teaching would help people to be good leaders and managers, and let them be successful in their life.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering from El Bosque University in Colombia and a Postgraduate Degree in Project Management from El Rosario University in Colombia too. This academic background and the experience gained in previous positions within the company I work for, led me to become a Service Delivery Manager. In general terms, in this role I am responsible for the planning and execution of the projects for the company’s customers.

I want to study an MBA because I realized that projects and business administration are related very close and complements each other. Learning and understanding how a company works in its different areas, is the foundation of what I need in order to advise and lead companies to success through projects with an international and a globalized approach. Also, I expect to have the opportunity to impart knowledge and share the experience acquired in the MBA.

In addition to the Postgraduate Degree in Project Management, I also took a course based in the Project Management Book of Knowledge. This course was 80-hours length, with teachers that were certified by the Project Management Institute as Project Manager Professionals with at least 10 years of experience in this field. Since then, I have been applying what I learned from this course and from the Postgraduate Degree in to my professional life leading me to success in my job. Several times co-workers recognized me as a team-player and as a key member of the project team that we have worked in. These recognitions were also awarded through a company’s program created to reward employees due to their performance in the job. The most successful project in which I have work is one for the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation. In this project I was responsible for planning and execution of a deployment of 180 satellite links in rural areas across the Colombian territory. It was executed in 6 months with a high customer satisfaction. This fact was the base to become as a reference for co-workers in projects of that size in technical and management issues. I have developed an analytical and creative management mind and managerial skills too.

In my almost 8 years of experience after my Bachelor Degree, I have had several positions within the same company. This experience has showed me that I am highly motivated to get things done, and that is why I have focused my career in management. I am confident that the Master in Business Administration offered by Georg-Simon-Ohm Management
Institute will provide me the knowledge, experience, confidence and contacts to realize my dreams.
