Review my personal profile for a CV?

Hi, I'm applying for a scholarship for a PhD program in the US, and I have to make a CV for it.

I will greatly appreciate it if you kindly review my brief biography in it.

I'm wondering if there's any grammar mistake or phrase that needs to be altered for improved vocabulary.

(Please kindly note that this is not a CV for a job, but for a scholarship.)

PERSONAL PROFILE

I am a second-year master’s student majoring in English linguistics at the University of XXX. I have developed excellent analytical skills through my years of research. I am an optimistic person who enjoys dealing with difficulties, including those which one may encounter in studying any subfield of linguistics.

In my undergraduate years, I mainly studied English and international communication, and also studied a little about linguistics. Integrating my knowledge of these subjects, I wrote a thesis on the pronunciation learning of English learners of Japanese. I shifted my focus slightly after enrolling in the University of XXX, and now I am researching English syntax, which is the study of sentence structures. More precisely, my research topic is a topic concerned with the source of information on which an utterance is based, which is so complicated that addressing it has even been avoided. Because of its extreme complexity, I am strongly hoping to continue to a Ph.D. program so that I can keep contemplating on the topic.
