Review ielts writing task 2

People have different views on whether or not to take on challenges, not only in their careers but also in their individual lives. Although there are certain disadvantages to taking risks, I wholeheartedly believe that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

In our careers, there are numerous upsides that taking on challenges can provide. The first and foremost obvious advantage is challenges would open more windows of opportunities and relationships that were never expected before. Furthermore, taking risks could play a role in enriching people’s experience and knowledge which progressively lays the foundation in the further development. This is perfectly exemplified in most start-up competitions, there are certainly some competitors who enrolled in with any sudden idea that came to their minds. Although they were not winners, they still have some certain benefits such as fame and investors’ attention.

Besides the practical reasons mentioned above, risk takers could also gain merit in their private lives. As it says, “Everybody wants to be a diamond, but very few are willing to get cut”. Whenever someone steps out of their comfort zone, as known as “willing to get cut”, it means that they have overcome their fear and grown after some failures. The more they gain self-awareness, the more meaningful and worthwhile lives they have. For instance, there are many well-traveled people who prefer to check out unspecified and extreme destinations; what they receive are top-notch memories about the phenomenal scenery that no one else has.

In conclusion, for all these reasons, I unconditionally concur that the advantages of taking on challenges overshadow the disadvantages, both in terms of one’s professional and individual lives.
