Review for a CV

Question

Hi,
I want to apply for jobs (web developer) in Korea and I would like my CV to be mistake free. And I am not english native.
So I wonder if someone would be nice enough to review it and give me some advice.
My cv is made of 2 columns, on the left the date, time or duration of the elements that are described on the right (the one I copied here).
It will aim International or Korean companies so I have to explain my diploma and internship more precisely since otherwise it will ring no bell except in my home country.
I just changed named of companies, school and locations to stay anonymous here.

Name of diploma ( Bachelor of Science, one year of study after the associate degree. Specializing in Web application design and development)

Name of diploma (A two years associate degree in Computer Science specializing in application development with two internships of 9 weeks each)

(I wonder if I should describe my internships like this, but it helps relating it to my education since it was part of my diplomas)

Let me offer you some general comments, based on how this is normally done in N. America.

You need these general sections.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

name, address, phone, email

OBJECTIVE

Say what specific job you are applying for,

The reader wants to know quickly whether you want to be a web designer, an applications programer, a technical sales representative, a floor sweeper . . .

SKILLS

Use this section to sell yourself. Show whyI have to give you the job.

Say what you can do,

This section is particularly useful for people like you who do not have extensive employment experience.

Please note this. Western companies value technical skills, but also place great imortance on non-technical skills. eg Can you work well with others? Can you work independently? Can you work as a team member? Are you able to communicate effectively with non-technical clients and colleagues?

So, do not talk exclusively about your technical skills.

REFERENCES

Try to find three people who will vouch for your skills and /or character.

Finally, here's a comment about language.

Avoid negative phrasing like Evaluated the shortcomings of the Company’s website.

Instead, say something like Enhanced the Company’s website.

Try to sound like a positive person, not like a negative person.

And consider this. Maybe the guy who reads your CV will be the guy who developed his company's website. He may not be thrilled at hiring someone who is going to find shortcomings in his work.

Sorry I forgot I have one more question. Is it ok to have my CV on two pages ? My home country version can hold within one page but with small font. Since I have to detail a bit more in the English version then I need 2 pages and I wonder if it is not too much for a junior developer !

The standard information to give is 'Position, Company'. If your position was called 'Intern', I'd just say that. eg Intern, Sotftware Development Dept., IBM, Seoul. I don't think the employer who reads your CV will care what degree the internship was related to. He just wants to know what you did.
