Vocabulary

return

Hello!

I'm not sure whether the word return is what I need here. Can you please read a sentence and help me?

Such an investment can already return at/in the next business deal of greater value and significance.

The meaning that I need here is ''you should get back the money you invested in the first next business deal...''

Thank you in advance

Thank you Mister Micawber. Is it OK to say ''recovered in the next business deal of great value and significance?''

I wouldn't-- it sounds too portentous. I would write recovered in the next successful business deal.

Hi
Is "return" a common noun?
For example is it right to say, "his return will make me happy.'

Yes, that is fine.

Can we return someone from somewhere?
For example,

He returned his child from school.

It sounds odd. Perhaps if he had someone else do it.

What do you use instead?
