I´d usually say-

Canyou recommend an entree or something good.

But could you use-

Can you recomment something for me? Or

Can you recommend something to me? This is at a restaurant setting.

or you could simply say "What do you recommend?"

"What do you recommend?" - this is what I would ask the waiter because it will cover pretty much the "house" and Chef Specials. How do I know? I had worked as a waiter during my schools years.
