Responding to Questions with Verb Tenses

Boy: Have you checked today's result for lotto?
Girl: Yes, I have.

OR

Boy: Have you checked today's result for lotto?
Girl: Yes, I did.

I think the first response by the girl is more appropriate since it is consistent with the verb tense of the question. However, in casual spoken English, can we also use another tense like the second response?

I wonder if native speakers are always consistent as regards verb tenses.

Hmmm... I would say it's fine. It's probably more natural for me to match the question- Have you?

If in doubt, just say "yes." The "I have" or "I did" is redundant anyway.
