"resolve to" - strange meaning

Hello!

Could you help me with the meaning of the "resolve to" phrase in this context?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2660401

E.g. "Tracking a contact email in Outlook does not resolve to the associated contact in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011"

The use of this word does not seem to match any of the definitions of the word resolve I have found. Is it some IT slang?
Is it something like "match" in this context? I'd have to quess, but I have to know for sure.

Thanks for taking interest in this topic.

Thank you very much for your time, Clive, I really appreciate it! I am still at a loss though. Maybe I am looking at the sentence in a different way than I should.
Would it be possible for and, if it does not pose a big problem or is not too much of an annoyance to you, paraphrase the sentence? Maybe I am reading the other elements incorrectly or I am in a kind of a stupor

A computer programmer wrote that. He is talking about code that transforms the address that it finds in Outlook into the proper syntax to retrieve the same contact in MDCRM. At the end of the transformation process, the address should resolve into the right CRM address, but it does not. That is programmer jargon, and you need not concern yourself with it. Don't get me wrong. I know what it means and I can't think of another way to put it. I just mean that the idea it conveys is over the head of the layman, so you don't need to worry about it. The meaning is quite standard.
