Resemble, Is Like and Look Like

Hello everyone,

A. Could you please tell me the difference between #1, #2, and #3? Or which one shows similarity in appearance and which which one demonstrates similarity in behaviour?

1. He resembles you.

2. He is like you.

3. He looks like you.

I take (1) to have the same meaning as (3) but also to be a little more formal than (3). , behavior, if modified to say so ( He resembles you in behavior ). (2) usually means that some behaviors or ways of thinking are the same in two people, not that they have a similar appearance.

I take (1) to have the same meaning as (3) but also to be a little more formal than (3). Both have to do with appearance, though (1) might have to do with something else, e.g., behavior, if modified to say so (He resembles you in behavior).

(2) usually means that some behaviors or ways of thinking are the same in two people, not that they have a similar appearance.
