Research on communication by telepathic means

HiHave you heard of any research on communication by telepathic means which involved several volunteers and some of those volunteers went mad after the research? Someone was telling that a movie has also been made on this subject. Please let me know if you have any information. Thank you.

No, I haven't.  It sounds like something out of the late years of Hitler's Germany, however.

But I'm afraid it was much after Hitler's Germany. I have found this:
