required/desired - OK. what about 'needed'?

Hi,

Select the desired option from the following list....

I understand one can safely replace 'desired' with 'appropriate' or 'required' here?

What about using 'needed" for 'desired' in this context?
Select the needed option .... would it be good English?

Perhaps you can give me more words close in meaning to 'desired'/'required'/appropriate' in this context?

Thanks!

Surely three are sufficient. In any case, no others spring to mind. Or just use 'an option'.
