Dear Concerned:

Thanks a lot for your all earlier help and guidance. It's requested to help me with the meanings of the following bold words:

1. ... try to put it in the wash as soon as you get home. (put it into the washing machine for washing?)

2. 2.Do I detect a note of skepticism there ?

3. …... he went off on this tangent about turning the homeless into chefs ...

4. .. there's no reason you and Amy can't win at affirmative. (positively?)

5. I'll be happy to work with you again whenever you like, just say the word. (just simply say it?)

6. Has he asked you on a date yet ? (has he requested you to go out on a date with him?)

I've never heard #4 either. I located it on a Chinese site, English Daily, along with your other idiom sentences and many more. I must say that they sound very natural except for this one.
