Request for or request - phl

Hi Everyone,

I'm a confused about the use of request in a sentence. For example:

"We would like to request for the following personnel to render overtime services on Saturday."

Is my use of request for correct or it should just be request?

Thanks.

"Request for" sounds wrong to me there. There are several ways of putting it with "request". I might make it "We would like to request that the following personnel render overtime services on Saturday:"

It should be just "request", but the sentence as whole seems overcomplicated. You can say:

We would like to ask the following people to work overtime on Saturday.
