Request

Hi!

If a wish is to be granted, how about a request?
Would it be 'to be considered'?

Thanks!Emotion: smile

" But when "granting a wish" is an act of magic, who's to do the considering? When an action is passive, the actor need not be named. Your question assumes the structures are parallel, and in some ways they can be - but not in all ways.

When "wish" and "request" are used as synonyms, both may be "considered" and both may be "granted."

Hi Avangi!
AvangiYour question assumes the structures are parallel, and in some ways they can be - but not in all ways.
Could you please tell me your implication about my question?
I'm sorry, but I don't get what you mean.
Thanks!

Perhaps you approve a request, instead of granting it?

Hi GG!

Yeah! why not?! That must be the word I'm looking for. "Approved a request" , sounds good, really.

Thanks!

I agree.

But I wouldn't go so far as to say,
"The judge granted my request for a postponement" should never be used.

I'm sorry, but I don't get what you mean. The board considered my wish/request for a leave of absence.

No problem at all.

I'm glad we got GG's attention, because her solution is best by far.
