Reporting vlause-reported clause

Hello,

1. Jancy said, 'I have been ill for a week.'

The part of the sentence in red is called a reporting clause whereas the part of the sentence in black is called a reported clause( direct speech).

Is the above statement about the clause correct?

2. Jancy said that she had been ill for a week.

After converting the above sentence into a indirect speech, the part of the sentence in red is still a reporting clause and the part of the sentence in black is reported clause.

Is the above statement(#2) about the clause correct?

What do we call the sentence #2 considering as a whole rather than defining it into parts?

Thanks.
