I've read in a few sources that the Past Simple Tense can remain unchanged in the reported speech (we do not have to switch it into the Past Perfect Tense). In the sources they didn't give an example of a question, though, and I was wondering whether this rule also concerns questions (I think it does but I would like to make sure), for example:
'Did you find your dream job?', the man asked. The man asked if I found my dream job.
Did you buy any cookies yesterday? Mum asked if I bought any cookies the day before.
Thank you in advance for your help.
