Reported speech with "over these past couple of days"

Earlier today you said you had/have been feeling horrible over these past couple of days.

Are both natural and correct? I'd like to follow the rules of reported speech but "over these past couple of days" makes it sound (to me at least) as if using the past perfect is impossible. Could someone please explain in detail? Thank you.
