Hi! I got confused while doing the task "Report the following conversation using the verb suggest". There is a sentence:
Angie (speaking to Susie): Why don't you phone him on Saturday and say you don't feel well?
I would do it like this: "Angie suggested phoning him on Saturday and saying she [Susie] didn't feel well" Although 'doesn't' instead of 'didn't' also sounds for me quite naturally here.
I wonder if the tense change (present simple -> past simple) is needed there?
Top answer
Angie suggested Susie should phone him on Saturday and say she didn't feel well.
