My question is how I can join both reported speech sentences in 'b' and 'd'. Because if it is with the verb 'anwser' we can use for example 'and added ...' to join them, but I don't know what to do with the verb 'thought'. Could you help solve this problem?
a) Coke thought, “Ihave to take the chance. Thisis the only place Ican find warm clothes and food!”
b) Coke thought (that) hehad to take the chance. Thatwas the only place hecould find warm clothes and food.
c) Coke thought, “Nobody can be this lucky. Ifound a jacket, a shirt, and some trousers.”
d) Coke thought (that) nobody could be that lucky. Hehad found a jacket, a shirt, and some trousers.
Thanks in advance
