Reported Speech in my story - please help!

Hi!!

I have to write an 'unsolved mysterie' for my english class.
I have a problem with the reported speech in my story. I don't know if I use it right. I hope you can help me.

Man learns perfect Italian in two hours

In school he had to learn a foreign language. He chose French unwillingly, but he wouldn’t like an other language more – no he hated all foreign languages. However he was a clever guy, he learned enough to pass every test, but after he took the A-levels he never has been talking or writing in French again.

Sometimes he thought that speaking foreign languages is also a advantage, but he wouldn’t ever admit it. When somebody asked he always asserted that English is the only language for him.

One day his boss came in his bureau and told him that he had got a promotion and that he had to work with other people and that he got a new project.

He went in his new office where he should meet his new customer Sophia Loren. He was really pleased to meet her, because he had heard about the her project before and he was really interested in it.

She sat on a chair when he came in. He wanted to say “Hello” ho her, when she said:”Buon giorno. Mi chiamo Sophia Loren.” His face went pale, he apologized and ran to his boss. The boss announced to him that Sophia Loren spoke only a little English and he should talk to her in Italian. He told his boss that he wasn’t able to speak Italian. The boss answered that he should eat lunch and come back after midday and work further in his old office.

He was really sad, so he drove home and called his best friend Patrick. Patrick came and he had immadiatly a good idea: he would teach his friend Italian, because he studied in Rome.

He threw his values over board and began to learn Italian. After his lunchbreak he went to his boss and told him that he would like to talk to Sophia Loren and assured that it worked.

He went to Sophia Loren and apologized for his sudden disappearance. She told him he shouldn’t worry and lauded him for his perfect Italian.
