Reported Speech: Answers.
Hi Teachers,
Could you tell me if the Reported Speech sentences are possible according to the information given?
This is what Coke answered to the old lady.
"They are just my work-clothes," Coke answered.
Coke answered,“They are just my work-clothes.”
Reported Speech:
a) Coke answered (that) they were just his work-clothes.
Can I also say?
b) Coke answered to the old lady (that) they were just his work-clothes.

So, 'to the old lady' and 'that' are both optionals, aren't they?
b) Coke answered to the old lady (that) they were just his work-clothes.
