I received a call from Emily last night. She told that she had decided to resign from her job. She explained that the long commute to work really was exhausting and that she wanted to work from home. I enquired if Annie had anything to do with her decision to quit the job. She said "No". She had told her employer that she would be willing to stay for several weeks till they found someone to replace her. She also said she would be prepared to stay longer if necessary.
