Reported Speech

hi teachers,

Hi teachers,

Could you please tell me if the reported speech sentences are correct or not?

This is what Halls said to Baxter.

Halls said, No, Coke got away.

Halls said (that) no he had gotten away.

Halls told Baxter (that) no he had gotten away.

Even though it is good to break direct speech into manageable pieces, I would like to now if the next reported speech sentence is all right.

Direct Speech

The policeman said, I’m from the village police station. The sergeant sent me. I’ve got something to tell you.

Reported Speech

The policeman said (that) he was from the village police station and that the sergeant has sent him because he had something to tell her.

Thanks in advance

I think most of them are correct, but one problem is with "...that the sergeant has sent him because..."

it must be "...the sergaent (had) sent him..."
