reported speech?

Hi,
Scenario: A group was talking about the future aspirations of the individuals there.
Later, a person who wasn't there asked a person who was there about what the group talked about

A: Hi, what did you guys talk about at the get-together?
B: We talked about what we wanted to be in the future. -- Is this OK? I feel uncomfortable using the phrase 'in the future' to reference back to what the group talked about in the past.
