Hi,
How shall I put this sentence in Reported Speech?
I came home and I saw that somebody had broken into my flat.
Theoretically, the Past Simple changes into the Past Perfect and the Past Perfect remains unchanged so the following santence should be correct:
He said that he had come home and had seen that somebody had broken into his flat.
However, it sounds strange to me. What do you think about it. I want to know if it is correct from the grammatical point of view. Not if it is correct or not in spoken English
