Report writing

I had completed my implant training in a mecahnical based company few weeks ago. I need to write a report on my training. What tense should be used in the report? Do i have to describe what i've done there in this way?: 'i was taken to the *** manufacturing and assembly line. Iwas breifly explained about the process in line...'. iIf not, in what way should it be written in order to make it good student report?
