Health Problems Caused by Smoking
1.0 Term of Reference
On 15 July 2011, . J the chief Executive Officer of the cancer Association, Windhoek requested the Health and Social officer to launch an investigation into and report the problem currently being experienced in the increasing of smoking rate in the world.
Health experts estimated that five millions people have dead every year. Experts say also smoking is leading to cancer which can end into death.
The report, with appropriate recommendations for formulation legal action by the chief executive officer, is to be submitted by 30 September 2011.
2.0 Procedures
2.1 Reading CAN reports to determine the connection between smoking and cancer.
2.2 Smoking leading cause of preventable death after cancer.
2.3 Some studies have also found a link between smoking and breast cancer.
3.0 Findings
3.1 Observed that many college students smoke in between lectures.
3.2 Majority of people believe the harmful effects of smoking are irreversible.
3.3 Studies have found out that nicotine may be as hard to resist as alcohol or the drug cocaine.
3.4 People who smoke are nearly two times as likely as non-smokers to develop disease which weaken memory.
3.5 People who smoke are harming also individuals who are not smoking and after one year, the risk of heart disease for non-smoker is half that of a smokers.
3.6 84 % of all smokers live in developing countries.
4. Conclusions
4.1 Addressing learners on smoking helps them understand the dangers better.
4.2 People who quit help a lot those who want to stop smoking.
4.3 The two medicines (Chantix and Zyban) help most smokers to stop Smoking.
5.0 Recommendations
5.1 I want the factory which make Drugs to be closed, towards that people will no more affect by diseases due to smoking.
5.2 High Government should forbid the selling of drugs in their countries by this would save lot of live for those who smoke very much
