Report was ran?

Some very educated people insist on saying the report was ran every week. Shouldn't it be "the report ran every week" OR "the report was run every week?"

The answer seems obvious to me, but I also seem to be in the minority on this.

I'm not sure where you are in the world, but there are some UK regional dialects in which "ran" is colloquially used as the past participle of "run". However, it is incorrect in standard English, and I doubt it could ever be called "educated".
