The students and teachers of the school observed the month of October as the month of Cancer Awareness as part of the curricular activities. Daily Life Skill lessons of the month were incorporated with the Cancer Awareness programmes. The displays on the Bulletin board outside the classroom were centered on the topic and brought forth information regarding the same. Teachers of international curriculum wore pink dress and pink wrist bank on Sunday 18th October, 2015 in support of Cancer Awareness. All Male staff of CBSE – i are encouraged to be a part of Movember where they are not allowed to shave or have a haircut to show their respect to the noble cause.
A seminar was organized for Dads and Sons on Cancer Awareness. Dr.Muneer Saeed an Associate Consultant General Sugeon at Al Ahli Hospital gave a talk on cancer awareness. The talk centered on cancer in teenage and adults, diagnosis, prevention and treatment. He also emphasized on the importance of healthy diet and exercise. Mr. George Edison vice principal talked to the parents on Right Way of Parenting. He said that parents should always be supportive towards their children, make positive remarks, respect them as individuals and find time to spend with them. Closing Pink month with a tribute to Mother Earth, Motherland and Moms students of Class X arranged a sale and amount passed on to Cancer Research Centre.
