English-language TV programmes in my country

Introduction.
The principal purpose of this report is to provide information about English – language TV programmes in my country: how popular they are and the nfluence they are having on local culture. The final section makes recommendations as to how the situation could be improved.

Current situation
In Spain, 56% of the TV programmes are made in an English – speaking country. As showed, the English- langue TV programmes are very popular. This is possibily due to the fact that we only get to see the TV programmes with the highest shares in the original country. As such, Spanish chanels can guarantee their success in Spain, afterall our tastes seem quite similar. Nonetheless, the Tv programmes which are aimed for adults can normally not be watched in their original version, only TV programmes made for children have this option so that children can learn English without much effort.

Effects on local culture
Since the percentage of English-language TV programmes is high, the local culture is heavily influenced by them. There is an increase in consuming products which are seen inEnglish-speaking TV programmes. A perfect example of this phenomenon is the cupcke. It isn't a Spanish tradition to make them, but there is now a boom, everyone wants to make the cutest cupcake ever seen. Furthermore not only to we copy the products used but also the appearance of the actors, how they are dressed or their hairstyles.

Recommended changes

I believe that TV programmes from whatever foreign country make our country richer in culture. To maintain this we should always have the opportunity to see the TV programme in it's original language. Although, without fogetting or own traditions and likes.

Although, without forgetting or own traditions and likes. (This is not a sentence - there is no subject + verb )

This is possibly due to the fact that we only get to see the TV programmes that are or have been very popular in their own country.
