The given graph gives information about the amount of oil which people in China produced and consumed over the period from 1982 to 2006. In general, the consumption of oil experienced a significant increase, ending the period at the highest place. Meanwhile, the oil’s production only witnessed a slight growth.

In 1982, the amount of oil barrels which produced was similar to that consumed at 2 million. During the period between 1982 and 1990, there was a slightly growth in the production of oil from 2 millions to 3 millions. Over the period, the oil consumption has increased slowly by 0.2 million to reach over 2 million in 1990.

According to the graph, the consumption of oil is expected to raise more quickly than its production. In 1993, both consumption and production had the same the amount of oil barrels at 3 million. After that, oil’s production was likely to grow slowly to 3.5 million in 2006. Meanwhile, the consumption of oil barrels witnessed a sharp growth, followed by the highest point to over 6 million at the end of the period.
