I'm supposed to write a short paragraph responding to my friend's opinion. There's a sentence that I don't understand. it is the first long sentence. Can you help me interpret it? Why she said pulic policy is much closer to home? What does jurisdiction mean?
Public policy is much closer to home because the local jurisdictions pass different laws from location to location in an attempt to mold their portion of society in a manner they perceive to be most beneficial. Even the local school board implements public policy in regard to students and their families. The terms governing and government are almost interchangeable with the term public policy. It is every governments purpose, whether a monarchy, democracy, or socialist, to implement public policy if not for the best interest of it’s citizens, then for its own controlling interests.
