Hi! I'm writing a reply email to my ex lecturer, I hope some one can help me to check on my grammar and writing tone. Thanks for your help in advance!

Sorry for my late reply! I had overseen the email as I have been long time never clear my personal inbox.
There isn't much snow in UK as what I have expected, or maybe is it just for this year? Finally the spring is here! The day light is getting longer, and this makes me much efficient than I was in the winter time.
After the first semester, I do realise that how different it is in UOS than in TU. It's not only the teaching style, and also the way of assessment. This had made me thought of the need in changing my own learning style. We have been discussing among our coursemates about learning in groups this semester, I hope we can see the results of it soon! My personal tutor is Dr xxx, a nice and casual lecturer!
Before I end the email, I also have an exciting news to share with you! I have participated in the Women in Engineering's innovation challenge, and I won in the competition! It was not a big competition anyway, but I have been invited to join in the talent community and it does make me feel more confident to myself, in this career.
