reply an email

I have previously put in an application to join a society, but they told me that they are currently just recruiting first year students. This is my reply to their email, can anyone give me some advice on whether is it appropriate to reply in this way? Many thanks for your help in advance! Emotion: big smile

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. But unfortunately, I am currently doing my second year course in xxx.
I am really interested in this kind of project. Is there any other projects or chances that will be opening to other years' students? Or is there still any other recruiting sessions that I may be able to put in my application?
I look forward for your advice, and thanks for your time and assistance.

Yours sincerely,
xxx
