Since disintegration of the former USSR, the rise of China has become a topic of analysis in academic circles of the world especially in the US. China has been growing with approximately a double-figure growth rate over last two decades. Its progress has become a source of inspiration in the developing world. It has brought a revolution of exports in the world and is trading in all continents. On diplomatic front, China has claimed its rise peaceful that the rise of China would not prove a hazard to the global stability or any neighbouring state’s security.
Concrete materialization of BRICS, in whom China is the largest economy and the most populated state, will result in alternation of the global political order. In a multi-polar world, the post-American world, China will have the ever-strong say in international political issues. It implies the rise of China will be a severe blow for the status-quo powers, especially for the US. On the other hand, the US has been striving to maintain the status-quo, especially since start of the 21st century, because multi-polarity has never been experienced by the US since end of its isolationist policy. Besides, it is believed in political circles of the US that the rise of China will be a detrimental factor to the supremacy of the US. In order to avoid any turbulent scenario, the US is endeavouring to sustain the status-quo persistently. However, it still seems that quagmire of the rising China will take a long epoch of the US engagement.
