Rephrase

Hello !

I have to rephrase the next statement so that the meaning stays the same:

But for the gurdians,the President might have been killed. (intervened)

It is correct to say 'If it wasn't intervened...' ?

It is correct to say 'If it wasn't intervened...' ? No.

If it wasn't for the intervention of the guards / bodyguards, . . . .
