In a close knit society like Pakistan the need to have higher generation capacity for income is essential. As the conditions stand at present, due to massive illiteracy and social taboos our women folk are not engaged in major economic activities. Women role is limited to that of house wives and some peripheral jobs are available to them. This state of affairs suffers from numerous inadequacies. Recent measures at empowering women for the purposes of loans to run small domestic enterprises are a positive step but outreach of those measures is limited and they hit snags of cultural and religious barriers
