Rephrase

Hi,

Would anyone please rephrase this sentence, which is too vague to me.
"But, you know, your paths have to cross for something like that to make sense."

  • Dylan and McCartney) would have to be in the same place at the same time (may be meant figuratively rather than literally) "for something like that to make sense" = for such a collaboration to be feasible/sensible.

"you know" = a near-meaningless "filler"

"your paths have to cross" = we (i.e. Dylan and McCartney) would have to be in the same place at the same time (may be meant figuratively rather than literally)

"for something like that to make sense" = f
