Repetition of preposition and conjunction in a complex sentence

1.He said that he would apprise the committee after revisiting the audit plan for the current year and discussion with his company head.

2. He said that he would apprise the committee after revisiting the audit plan for the current year and after discussions with the company head.

Could you kindly explain whether repetition of word 'after' in the second sentence is required or the conjunction 'and' alone will serve the purpose.
