Repeated words in a sentence - I am not sure how to punctuate them

Hi - I am never sure how to treat repeated words in a sentence - such as in the following sentence: "I have seen him time, after time, meet my need; and we had a great time celebrating this." This is just an example of the type of sentences that I am not sure of. Does one always want to put the comas around the repeated words - in this case "time, after time," ?

Thank you so much for your help, Chris
