I have a problem. I don't know which are the words with reapeated letters. (ex: letter, opposite) Is there a rule which tells us when we should write with double letter?

Nona's suggestion is a good one. Your word processor's spell checker and a dictionary are your "best friends" in determining the correct spelling and usage.
Here's an example where you need both spell checker and dictionary as both are English words. Take out one letter ("t") and they have completely different meanings: liter vs. litter. One is a unit of measureme
There are so many rules about double letters that it is nearly impossible to learn them all - and all the exceptions - especially in time to write a paper. I'd go with the spell-check tool instead, given the circumstances.
