repeat preposition?

Could someone let me know whether or not I should repeat prepositions if the sentence isn't really a list? Naturally I understand the answer would be no if it is a list. Example:

I have filed reports in Alabama and in Missouri.
or
I have filed reports in Alabama and Missouri.
