repeat and same

Hi

Please help me with this sentence

She has often repeated the same idea in different ways.

I think this expression is common at least in my region.

I am wondering why we should use same and repeat together.
I think we can put it this way:
She has often repeated an idea in different ways.

Please give your comments.

The entire sentence may be coming off more wordy than you intend because of "often" "repeated" and "same". " Certain context would call for all the words you used. " followed with proof of those repetitions.

  • Including often and same adds weight to the repetitions that makes it negative/undesirable.
  • Just watch out for wordiness!
