whats the difference between  "RENDEZVOUS" and  "MEET" ?

They can mean the same:

''Let's rendezvous/meet at the restaurant.'

But 'meet' can also mean 'encounter by chance':

'I happened to meet him in town.'

Rendezvous is a complicated word from French. The French are very romantic, so it is frequently used to hint at secret romantic liaisons. (The lovers rendezvoused at midnight, away from prying eyes.) When two spacecraft have a rendezvous, they come together and "kiss" each other. (Of course the rocket scientists call this "kiss" docking.) It can also be used for military operations: (The two brigades will rendezvous at the designated point at 07:00 hours. ) That is because the original derivation was in a military context.
