Rendering

Does "rendering" mean "represent"?

"They are very good for many small computations done in parallel, like rendering polygons in graphics applications. They are not so good at serial tasks."

"To render" is a term from computer graphics. I can't imagine how you are reading this stuff without already knowing that. A computer renders an image when it does all the computations necessary to tailor each pixel in a frame taking into accout as much of the lighting, color, motion, reflections, etc., as are demanded by the level of realism desired. It does this partly by breaking the scene

"rendering" in this sense is a computing term which essentially means "drawing" (in software) in order to produce a viewable image of an object or scene on a screen.
